Once upon a time...
The adventure begins when Laurel and a friend launched “Picture This Productions” in college. While they had little to no experience, they had a whole lot of enthusiasm and shopped their new idea across their small town of Colorado Springs. One piano store eventually bought their production package and they were in business…ready to take on the world!
After graduating Magna Cum laude from the University of Colorado with a major in their equivalent of a film and television degree, Laurel began work at a small, local TV station. As a writer and producer of various types of programming, she was thrilled to be part of the team that took their station all the way to winning “Station of the Year”. It was unprecedented for a then fledgling station to surpass all of the top tiered stations in the running, and Laurel even garnered an Emmy for a PSA series on Teen Homelessness that year. From there she won numerous Telly’s and NATOA’s for other shows she produced as well.

Profession into Passion
With a desire for broader horizons, Laurel joined the production team at the PeaceJam Foundation and began collaborating with the BBC to develop a documentary film series on select Nobel Peace Laureates. Their work would eventually become the award winning Nobel Legacy Film Series. Traveling the world, interviewing and compiling stories with such luminaries as the President of East Timor, Jose Ramos-Horta, Betty Williams and Mairead Corrigan of Ireland, Iran’s Shirin Ebadi, and most notably, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and his Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, was where Laurel honed her producing skills in the field and developed a propensity towards the under-served populations, particularly women and children.
Passions of Production
Through the experiences and woven journeys of many talented people in the industry a few select were drawn together to create compelling productions that inspire and empower.
